Beyonce sheds what's left of that wholesome Southern girl image for these new shots for the new Fall/Winter Dereon line. Say what you want about Bey - I love her! She never looks bad and is always hittin em with ferociousness!
I love the glammed up dirty girl aura she's giving in these pictures so what better thing to do than replicate that with outfits inspired by the photoshoot? Can't wait for the line - will you be rocking Dereon this fall?
I'm featuring some day to night looks inspired by Kanye West's twitpics. I often look at well dressed men and want to emulate their swag. There is something about a dapper man that even the fairer sex can draw inspiration from.
Kanye wears leather Phillip Lim shorts and does a Miami Vice style look with it. The colors are awesome for summertime and this look can transition well into autumn as well. You can accessorize as you wish, I just did a basic outfit outline.
Finally it's happened to me, right in front of my face, my feelings can't describe it!! Who doesn't want to sing these fateful lyrics as news breaks that Marc Jacobs considers expanding his sizing range? According to Marc Jacobs International president Robert Duffy via twitter he is in the early stages of planning a complete plus size line for women over a size 14. Who knows what the size range of this new line will be, but it will be at least a year before it's available. Of course they are in the TALKING stages, but I predict this will happen. If it does, his fashions won't just be for the slim women, but they will include items for larger ladies as well. The fashion industry is beginning to wake up to the fact that plus size women have money to spend and want to look just as fashionable as their slender peers. And to that, I say: IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! lmao
The company's current sizes 14 and 16 doesn't even sell in stores. Hopefully that will change as well. I have a dream that one day sizes 14 and 16 will hang alongside sizes 0 and 2. Women of all sizes deserve to look sexy and fashionable, not frumpy and drab and confined to ill-fitting garb. This is a step in the right direction.
I'm going to switch the usual subject on my blog for a minute. Instead of talking about fashion and beauty related things, I've got to speak on something very important.
I want to talk about the missing Cal State Fullerton graduate, Mitrice Richardson, who was recently found dead in Malibu Canyon. 25-year-old Mitrice Richardson has been missing since September 17, 2009. She was initially arrested for failure to pay a restaurant bill at Geoffery's, a Malibu restaurant. Witnesses at the restaurant reported that she was acting oddly, telling staff and patrons she was from Mars and speaking gibberish, and it is odd because there was only 1 drink on the bill. Mitrice was supposedly released from police custody while she was allegedly intoxicated in a remote area during the dark early morning hours - with no car keys, wallet, or a cell phone.
A lot of information has already been said...you can go to NBC, CNN or do a google search and find out more details. I really suggest visiting her family's websites for more indepth information: http://bringmitricerichardsonhome.blogspot.com/ (Mitrice's father's site) and http://www.bringmitricehome.org/index.html (Mitrice's mother's site) What you will hear from the police department involved in her case are LIES.
I am just going to use my blog to say here that I believe the police had something to do with it! Yeah, I said it! Check the links and look at the facts yourself and tell me things don't add up! I have been following her case from the beginning and I am saddened and angered about the way the police department has repeatedly lied to her family and treated them with callous disrespect. I know my lil ol blog does not get that many readers, but I hope by talking about her story on here that in some way, it can spread awareness about what happened to Mitrice Richardson. A bright young woman, taken from the world like this and people who were supposed to protect and serve did the complete opposite. This could be any young woman, this could have been me, this could be you, or someone that you love.
RIP Mitrice Richardson - gone too soon. God sees everything and you and your family will recieve justice.
I'm using this post to give a shoutout to one of my favorite sites on the internet. There's nothing better than getting my Rachel Zoe on by styling virtual models with designer clothes. There are probably millions of items by well known and new designers you can use to create outfits. The 2010 version of paper dolls is sooo addicting. Andre Leon WHO? I'm a pro at this!! I've actually been online mushing my behind for hours on end creating looks. Looklet's benefitted me in my personal life too. I've found that after designing the models on the site, I've become willing to be more adventurous with my own personal style.

It seems that these 4 would have nothing in common, yet they are all tied together by a common element -- fringe. I can tell you with confidence that fringe will be very relevant to your wardrobe if it isn't already. I'm a huge fan of the fringe look and the great thing about it is that it's so versatile and easy to incorporate into your everyday looks. Some popular ways to do fringe are handbags and boots. I'm seeing a lot of across the shoulder tan and brown fringe bags. Kate Moss, Nicole Richie, and Ashley Olsen have donned fringed scarf jackets. What are your thoughts on this trend?
At least that's what Courtney Love thinks. The grunge singer told WWD.com that an insider from Karl Lagerfeld's camp put her on some game that many of the hair extension wearing fashionistas suffer from lackluster love lives. She was advised that her look should be toned down to attract a man.
"She said that if you want to get laid once in a while, then you better stop wearing the kook. I realised she was right. The whole time I had hair extensions, I was dry as a bone. Sex is like a good meal and fine wine. It has to be done."
Ummmm, I'm not so sure about that advice. I've never heard of a man turning a woman down simply because she wore a weave. Like, "Ew gross she has extensions! TURNED OFF!" As much as I adore Courtney Love, I have seen her with some ratty looking weaves and just looking a general hot ass mess (HAM). Courtney and Britney Spears must visit the same stylist who hates them both equally. It's more likely that the unkempt state of the extensions was a turnoff, not the extensions themselves. Many desirable women wear weaves, extensions, tracks, whatever you wanna call it....what matters is how well you maintain it and the quality of the hair you wear.
For some reason hair extensions are a really controversial beauty aid. They just get a bad rap across the board and I don't agree with it. You don't hear the same sentiment about makeup, false lashes, push up bras or even...botox. Why is weave so controversial? My advice is: wear the weave, don't let the weave wear you, ladies. And on that note, I'm out!
I miss Michael Jackson! I can't believe it's already been over a year since he passed away. Just like you can take a trip down memory lane by listening to his music, you can also celebrate him by donning MJ-inspired clothing. The media tried to discredit him a lot in his last years, but it can't be denied that not only did his music touch the world, but his style still influences many of us too.

I hope you don't think you have to be a yellabone long haired star to have pretty girl swag cause you don't! Anyone who is looking to get a little more glamourous and feminine can get on this trend. Ladies like the Vistoso Bosses, Ciara, and Diamond (formerly of Crime Mob) all exemplify what is commonly known as "pretty girl swag".
And if you're still thinking...okay Bronze, that's cool but they are in the industry, how can I rock this without looking like I'm trying too hard? My answer for that is -- confidence is a must and, remember, if you're not going to the club or are on the more low-key side, you can always tone it down with basics and neutrals.
As you can see, Taylah and Kelci have a lively fresh style that is all their own. Their look is best described as a marriage of girlie girl punk and bold urban cuteness. I like that these girls have fun with their image without trying to be grown and overly provocative ::cough::MileyCyrusImtalkingtoyou::cough::
Ciara's style has really evolved over the years. Her look has transitioned into a very body conscious and glamorous feel. She manages to keep her A-town tough vibe and fuse it with futuristic high fashion by doing a lot of cut outs, body con dresses, denim, and bold jewelry.
Miss Diamond's looks are a show stopping collaboration of the latest trends, brightest colors and patterns. She's not afraid to show off her figure while still keeping it hood. She's another ATLien who incorporates her hometown vibe into her daring looks.
